Supermodel Varsha Thapa has landed herself on the cover page of October’s issue of Vogue India. She is the first Nepali model to be on the cover of an influential fashion magazine. The issue features ‘Celebrating Beauty in Diversity’ and the cover captures the essence of the tagline as it portrays women from different background. She took on Instagram to share her delight saying “I’m literally over the moon to announce my cover with @vogueindia I am SO grateful and humbled to have work with the most amazing team! Thank you so much for conveying such a powerful message to the world about empowering #beauty of #diversity! I stand by this message strongly, especially because I’m an #ethnicmodel and it’s truly harder for ethnic models to make it big! Thank you so much..”
It is definitely a proud moment for Varsha and truly inspiring for all the young models of Nepal.
She is New York based model and has been known as one of Nepal’s first supermodel and is represented by one of the major agency Wilhelmina Model Agency. 26 year old Varsha had debuted at the fashion week wearing Prabal Gurung’s collection for Spring 2012 which also makes her the first Nepali model to walk on New York fashion week. It is so amazing to see Nepali people working so hard and achieving success in their life.
She has been featured in Rouge Magazine in China and also in Navayaata magazine in Nepal.
Varsha’s dream is to walk for Roberto Cavalli, be the face of Calvin Klein and to become a Victoria’s Secret Angel and with all this hard work she’s been doing we can definitely bet that she can bag her dream and much more!!.
